Reading through the posts in my Idaho Photographers group on Flickr, I stumbled across a contest for the show, "Outdoor Idaho", that runs on our local PBS station. They were asking for entries of photos taken around the state (which I have plenty of), so I decided to enter my photo of the Snake River Canyon - just for giggles.I took this photo (left - click to enlarge) in 2005 with my dinky Kodak EasyShare C300 (which literally fell apart two years later). It was right after we bought it and we were so excited to finally have a digital camera (in all it's 3.2 megapixel glory). I ended up taking this photo to the county fair and won a blue ribbon and best in class.
Well, I went to check my Facebook real quick before bed last night and spotted a note from Outdoor Idaho's page, where I had entered the contest to begin with. The first thing I saw was my photo! I had won! Here's the Facebook post:
Each will receive the Outdoor Idaho DVD, “A Middle Fork Journey.”
The judges also awarded five Honorable Mentions: “A Little Riverside Campfire” by Joey James; “Marble Creek” by Todd Hoffman; “Winter Quail” by Robert Millage; “A View from Twin Peaks Fire Lookout” by Chuck Cathcart; and “Cordelia Church in Moscow” by Christina Coulter.
Our two judges for this month’s event were Jay Krajic and Kevin Rank. Jay’s work has been featured on numerous Idaho calendars. Kevin is a founding member of "KT Life Studios" and presides over a photography blog at http://ktlifestudios.com/b

Nothing too thrilling, but it's still nice to be recognized! I plan on giving the DVD to my grandparents. :)
