Schmap Denver Guide

I received an odd Flickrmail (email over Flickr) about a month ago. It was from an editor from Schmap, an interactive online map guide, informing me that one of my Denver Zoo photos (left) was short-listed to be used for the Denver Guide. Matt also got the same email for one of his Denver Zoo photos. I thought it was kind of neat, but was a little skeptical. I know that companies do lurk Flickr in search for images for their marketing, but I just assumed it was some sort of fluke or my image wouldn't be chosen. I submitted my photo anyways, just for the heck of it.

Today, I received another email from the same editor, informing me that my image was accepted and will be viewed when someone searches the Denver Guide. It's mainly good for exposure, since there is no pay in it, but still - kind of exciting! While scrolling through the other images chosen, I saw that Matt's photo was chosen, too! I don't know what this will bring for us, but it's still kind of honoring.

Also, the fair is around the corner, so Matt and I have the pain-staking task of mucking through our photos in search of the "fair-quality" ones. Not to pat ourselves on the back, but it's going to be hard whittling it down to just a handful - we both have many favorites!
